How much you can handle (simultaneously)???
I have been working alone nearly 6+ years until recently added 2 new bosses. I wonder how much they know, how much work they can handle and how much they cud help me. 2nd boss, sort of like doing troubleshooting with me. He is a person that can't handle work simultaneously, which means he can't be multitasking.
1st boss, I thought he is wat so great but the more I work with this person, i think he only know much on theory and not so practical. In fact, I prefer those bosses that have a lot of experience in various ways, either theoritically or technically since this is SIM (Senior IT Manager). But unfortunately I have bosses that can't suit my needs.
Things happen recently which make me frust, tired and sick with this 2 bosses.
1st boss, only know how to talk but sucks when come to practical. He don't take serious action to those that abuse office resources. He can ask an IT personnel not to set quota for email accounts (which might cause disaster to the server). He is lost when problem arise. He only know how to ask us to do work and ask for dateline. Always ask for meeting with no outcome/decision. Know nothing of our office system. He don't really know what exactly he want to ask/talk to you....and much more...which I feel sick of counting.
2nd boss juz a slight better than the 1st. Initially I tot he is better than my 1st boss and shud be on the same boat with me...until yesterday. I was bz running around to change IP and troubleshooting. I get his call around 5+ mentioning that ppl(so far he mentioned 2 names) complaint they get email slow. I ask him, did you check the email server. He was like telling me he can't be checking the email server everytime and he got so much to do and he can't handle them and saying why this ppl call him rather than me...besides he wanted to change the setting for the user juz becos of that. I told him that checking problem (include email server) is part of our job, no matter how bz and how much u dun like it. I say no, you can't be changing all users setting juz becos they complain (we have to find the root of the problem and not only taking temporary measure on this).
I was shocked when he told me he can't handle. I was thinking all this 6 years I am alone supporting all this ppls and I did not complain that I can't handle at all. Am I being abnormal or nowadays 1 person can only do 1 task. I know he can't be multitasking but no matter what I believe a person should learn and upgrade themselves to be more efficient and calm of handling those work.
I have no words for both of them, I juz feel upset having such a superior and I wish I cud retired NOW!!!!!!!!
